The lymphatic system is part of the body’s immune system found throughout the body that consists of a network of vessels and nodes. This system protects us from infections and disease by acting as a one-way drainage system moving lymph fluid which contains white blood cells that fight infection, filtering and destroying anything harmful to the body and by getting rid of waste.
The Lymphatic system can become blocked, damaged or removed through surgery and can result in excess fluid and immune conditions.
Lymphatic drainage reflexology works only on the lymphatic reflexes and can be practised on the feet or the hands. This is a gentle treatment using only a light pressure that stimulates the lymph drainage and can be seen to have an immediate effect in reducing swelling. This treatment is also performed on a reclining chair and is very relaxing. Treatment time lasts roughly 1hour.
